Leighton's Birthday Party

Grandpa Phil called Leighton last week to ask him where he wanted to go for his birthday diner.  Leighton told Papa that he wanted to go to Bonefish.  The whole week he kept talking about how much he loved fish.  He kept talking about how he was going to order salmon or fish tacos.  Friday night arrived and Leighton ordered ... chicken fingers and fries.  I on the other hand did order fish and a lot of it.  It does deserve a mention: Crab, Shrimp, and Scallon stuffed Talapia.  It was delicious! Ok, back to Leighton.  He is 5.  Wow!

After Diner, we opened presents from Grandma and Grandpa Ludemann.

Binoculars

 Books
 Lego Set
And some awesome summer clothes!  It seems like forever until we will be able to use them, but they were awesome nonetheless.  Last year on Leighton's Birthday, Iowa set a record high of 81 degrees.  This year was a different story; Very cold and a lot of snow on the ground.

Saturday, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Hukee's for another celebration.

Leighton wanted me to surprise him with his cake this year.  He loved it.  Grandpa even got him golf balls making all of us even more excited for summer, even spring would be nice right about now.

Trucks
 Bike

He was also blessed with the company of Quinn, Rex, Myla, Titan, and Jett Rude who also came to the Hukee's house to help Leighton celebrate.

Sledding

Either I have a terrible memory, or I have only been sledding 2 times in my whole life.  One of those times doesn't really count because it was on my backyard "hill."  Regardless, this sledding trip was so much fun!  I went down the hill once, but otherwise spent time taking pictures, keeping Wynnlee warm, and guarding the box of donuts.

Luke went down several times.  He tuckered out towards the end because he was literally too tired to climb the hill again.

McCabe's mittens were several sizes too large.  He didn't notice but I thought it was so cute.

Leighton, on the other hand would have gone sledding all day long.  Not only did he sled the same number of times as Luke and thus walk up the same number of times as Luke, but he also took several trips by himself, and he also ran down the hill after everyone else took their turn to carry their sled back up for them.  I think it is safe to say that Leighton had a great time.  We all had a great time.

Eating & Playing

Watching my kiddos grow is such a delight.  From meal times to play times and all the other stuff in-between.  It is just awesome.

Bounce House SuperBowl Party

Thanks to 2 families in our bible study who own bounce houses, we had quite the SuperBowl celebration.  The kids had a blast bouncing around and the parents enjoyed chatting, eating, parenting rowdy bouncing children, and watching a tiny bit of the game on the big screen at church.
