Family Vacation in Minnesota: Grandpa & Grandma Ludemann's House

Our family of 6 traveled to the beautiful lake-filled, God-blessed state of Minnesota.  I may be biased because I was born and raised there, but as long as it isn't winter, Minnesota is a very beautiful place. Our first few days were spent at my parents house, Grandpa and Grandma Ludemann's place on Lake Minnetonka.  In a busy 48 hours we enjoyed boating ...

Swimming ...

 Fishing ...

Smiling at Wynnlee ...

Playing the Piano ...

And Hot Rod night at the Drive-In just a block away from my parents house.  In addition to getting to walk there, we also get to see a lot of cool cars, listen to a lot of cool cars screeeeeeech their tires as they leave, and of course eat some ice cream.

In The Pool

As summer winds down, we thought we needed one last day in the backyard pool.  Leighton and Brooks enjoyed several trips down the slide and McCabe enjoyed putting several things down the slide and then catching it with his bucket.  Brooks tries to get as wet as possible.  McCabe tried to stay as dry as possible.  And I try to take as many pictures as possible while holding precious Wynnlee and simultaneously trying to avoid getting Wynnlee, myself or the camera wet!

An update on the boys ages is always fun to report on since time is flying by so fast.

Brooks, who is a whopping 30 pounds and still not quite 2 years old yet, can always be counted on to look at the camera and say cheese!

Leighton, who is a whopping 40 pounds, and 4 1/2 years old, loves to be creative and invent new ways to enjoy the pool.

McCabe, who is finally growing hair and his muscles, is 3 years old and isn't overly thrilled about the pool.  He'd prefer a warm bathtub and I can't say I blame him! At the pool, you can find him ... you guessed it ... throwing stuff into it or out of it.  It is the only way he can be found near this cold water.

Here is the first time the boys tried going down together.  I love how tight Leighton is holding onto his brother!
