Aunt Jenna's Engagement Party

A steal drum player, hoola-hoops, and plastic waters bottles to drink kept these kids happy, funny, cute, entertained and exercising for hours at Aunt Jenna's Engagement party.  Her, and her fiancĂ© Jake are getting married in October, and his mom threw a great party to celebrate!

Easter Party

Easter is coming up!

This week I have been reading John 16 and was greatly encouraged by some of the verses.

John 16:5-7
"But now I am going away to the One who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. Instead, you grieve because of what I've told you. But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don't the Advocate won't come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you."

John 16:20-22
"I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy. It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again."

Jesus died.
Jesus rose from the dead.
This is to our benefit.

This morning we went to an Easter Party at Autumns house. She explained Jesus' death and resurrection through some trinkets in eggs! The kids were very sweet as they opened up eggs with a donkey, coins, a cup, a cross, a rock and finally ... an empty egg to signify that Jesus was not in his tomb any longer because he has risen from the dead! These kids seem to know the story well!

Brooksy even listened well! :)

Then the boys got to do an easter egg "hunt" which wasn't much of a hunt! Poor McCabe didn't quite get it. He didn't gather any of his own eggs. It did pick one up, sat on his bottom, opened it and started immediately eating the candy inside. Thanks to Big Brother Leighton and friend Hannah, McCabe got a handful of eggs to take home.

Then lunch and lots of fellowship.

Leighton played with trains and McCabe played with Brooks! McCabe really does LOVE his baby brother.

I am so blessed. I have a wonderful family and have a saving relationship with my Lord and Savior who rose from the dead on Easter.

Who could ask for anything more?
