Tonight the wonderful ladies at the 32nd street house hosted another fabulous get together. The theme was Asain Night. Jeremy cooked Pad Thai, Ashlyn and Sarah deep fried egg rolls, Luke made crab rangoons, Trent made Mongolian Beef, & many others brought soda, desserts, fried rice, and of course Fortune Cookies. We also watched movies outside with a huge projector, screen and speakers. I am constantly amazed by the creativity of people to come up with such fun ideas, and by the talent of people to execute the fun ideas, and by the great servants who love unconditionally, do the dishes, bring stuff, buy stuff, clean, pick up after people, and take an interest in others.
I am so grateful to the Lord for the these amazing friends & examples. I am humbled by their care & concern for others. I am encouraged by the conversations I have with them.
Tonight as I drove home, with Leighton jabbering & McCabe fighting sleep, I was easily given to praise and adoration to the great God we serve. On a daily basis, and especially at fellowship events like these, I pray that I would be an encouragement to the people that I am arround, that I would set a good example, & that I would fill the need of the moment, but time and time again, I end up being the one encouraged, I end up witnessing and being challenged by others examples, and I find that others jump at the chance to serve me and my family.
I cannot praise the Lord enough for this incredible body of Christ. I am grateful to him for allowing me to be a part of these people's lives and for the opportuinty to be united with such an amazing group of people.
Hopefully the Lord continues to use us, as individual bible studies and collectively as one local church, to reach this city of Des Moines with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
