Leighton's 6th Birthday

I really thought Leighton turning 6 would be less of a big deal that turning 5.  5 and 10 seem to be such milestones that I didn't anticipate 6 feeling too crazy.  But I was wrong.  A 6 year old sounds so old! And I have one of them now! And I am so delighted about Leighton's 6 year old life.

Giving gifts is a really special experience.  Luke and I love the looks on their faces as they open up new things.  This years favorite was the hunting vests they got so they could look more official when they hunt plastic animals with nerf guns in our home!  I think the sleds were a close second, but since there is no snow outside they aren't very  useful yet!  That isn't actually entirely true, the sleds have served as a sleigh of sorts for the kids to drag all of their new stuff around in.
