57 in January

We had another beautiful day in mid-January.

We had a wonderful lunch outside on the picnic table. I even enjoyed a summer inspired salad with Rasberry vinegrette dressing and a lot of craisins.

Lunch was followed by biking ...

... Swinging ...

... Roaming ...

... and Dog Watching ...

The day did come with a few tears. Leighton ran full speed ahead into the slide and has a black eye and Brooks got knocked over by wild swinging brothers 4 or 5 times.

Warm Days in January

We had a fabulous day enjoying playing outside for over an hour and we weren't even cold when we came in. It actually broke 60 degrees outside today and we are a week into January. It wasn't quite that warm outside in the morning while we were out but it was beautiful none-the-less. In fact, my boys were very over dressed. My Leighton

My McCabe

My Brooks Leighton and McCabe thought it would be a great idea to push Brooks for him. Brooks loved it was a wild ride. He was twisting and turning and being pulled all around.

The boys loved breaking in their boots, playing in the sand, swinging their brother, playing baseball, and even chasing - and being chased by - the neighbors cat.

SWING SET

WE GOT A SWING SET!

We are quite fond of the park. It is a blast to go swing, climb and go down slides. Luke and I have wanted to give our kids a swing set (a small version of the park) for a while. We obvisously don't want to pamper and spoil our kids but we want to give them good gifts and we delight to do so. Making our boys happy is just as much a gift to us as it is to them!

I LOVE seeing my kids smile. I ENJOY making them happy! I DESIRE to give them good gifts.

A friend of the family gave us this swingset! And not only was the swingset a free gift, we borrowed the church truck (had to take back roads for fear the truck wouldn't survive the interstate), Kathy and Anthony's pick-up, and 7 strapping young men (Luke's friends from where else than our fabulous church!). In just 3 hours our backyard was transformed.

It was a true JOY to show our boys the new swingset and we are thankful for each and every person who served us.
