"How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!

All who delight in him should ponder them.

Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.

His righteousness never fails.

He causes us to remember his wonderful works.

How gracious and merciful is our Lord."

We are constantly amazed by God's goodness in our lives and continually stuck with awe when we contemplate his glory, his righteousness, his mercy, his deeds, his graciousness, and his majesty!  

Birth is an incredible time to reflect on the scope of God's power, his creative abilities, his fine-tuning skills, and his faithful love.  The birth of Miss Wynnlee Rae, was nothing short of this kind of experience for us.  

Meeting my daughter, met me with a flood of emotions and a great love for her.  I was reminded of his wonderful works.  I was touched by how deep his love is for us.  We are delighted in her!

 Wynnlee was 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 inches long!  Most importantly, she is made in the image of GOD!

The birth story follows and is posted mostly for my memory since all 4 deliveries already blur together, so skip it if you want!

I had been dialated to 2 cm for about 10 days.  At 3:30 am on June 21, 2012, my water broke.  Grandma Julie came over and we were off to the hospital. We check into the triage room (which would eventually be where we would first hold Wynnlee and where she would first hear us and feel us and see us) since all the rooms were full.  I was still 2 cm.  We walked the halls over and over again from 5:00-7:00, praying through each contraction that God would prepare my body, dialate me, efface me, relax me so I wouldn't fight against the contraction, and remind me of his goodness.  At 7:00 am I was dialated to 8 cm.  A few contractions later, I was a 9, and a few more later, I was a 10.  My midwife, Justine, had to stretch a portion of my cervix that was still in the way, and then I started pushing!  She was born at 7:43 am!

We got into a room around noon to enjoy our daughter and visits from friends and family.

 I enjoyed a lot of quiet reading time.  My handsome husband took this of me!  I also enjoyed some date time with him.  We got to talk for hours and I loved every minute of it!

Bringing Wynnlee home has been wonderful.  I was so glad to be reunited with my boys and they are all doing surprisingly well with her.  Everyone wants to hold her and kiss her.  Leighton loves to look at her. McCabe loves to tell her that she is made in the image of God.  Brooks actually asks to hold her the most (but would also wrestle her or sit on her if we weren't careful).

 And here is grandma, cuddling with Wynn!  Grandma got to snuggle her a lot but also spent a lot of time cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, chasing the boys, and being an extra set of hands.  We were so thankful to have her here for a week.

SWING SET

WE GOT A SWING SET!

We are quite fond of the park. It is a blast to go swing, climb and go down slides. Luke and I have wanted to give our kids a swing set (a small version of the park) for a while. We obvisously don't want to pamper and spoil our kids but we want to give them good gifts and we delight to do so. Making our boys happy is just as much a gift to us as it is to them!

I LOVE seeing my kids smile. I ENJOY making them happy! I DESIRE to give them good gifts.

Matthew 7:7-11

"Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him."

A friend of the family gave us this swingset! And not only was the swingset a free gift, we borrowed the church truck (had to take back roads for fear the truck wouldn't survive the interstate), Kathy and Anthony's pick-up, and 7 strapping young men (Luke's friends from where else than our fabulous church!). In just 3 hours our backyard was transformed.

It was a true JOY to show our boys the new swingset and we are thankful for each and every person who served us.

Thank you so much to everyone who blessed us today! We appreciate and adore your friendship and faithfulness in our lives. It encourages us and spurs us on to be a blessing among one another and hopefully to many others as well.

Seasons

We all love being outside!

Luke and I took the little ones to the park last week. McCabe still puts everything in his mouth so ...
... He ends up on my hip most of our outside time!

Leighton is still quite the adventurer. He loves to climb and try new things. He loves the park and being outside.
Luke and I enjoying spending outside time together on our family day! Hopefully soon we can add ice cream trips to our list of fun things to do together as a family.

This morning we went on a walk around the neightborhood. It was wonderful. I am glad Luke was with us because there is a good chance that I would not have made it back up the hill to our house at the end. Our neighborhood has so many hills. That, combined with being pregnant and let's be honest, the fact that I am very out of shape all added to an exhausting but great workout. Luke pushed the stroller up the hill at the end and I was very thankful. It is sad that I cannot go on walks by myself in the neighborhood. We will have to take many trips to Grey's Lake and other flat walking destinations.

Praise the Lord for the change of seasons. It isn't just the sunshine that brings me to praise him. It is what the sun and change of seasons reveal about his character. He is so orderly, creative and powerful to have set the seasons in place and although winter is a tough one to endure, it sure makes you thankful when the spring comes. Happy spring to everyone!

The Retest Results

The results came in today. My blood was perfectly fine, but McCabe's still showed high levels of the enzyme. So tomorrow we are to report to the Doctor and then the hospital pathology lab to get McCabe's blood drawn and collect urine for more specific tests.

They are testing for 3-MCC, or 3-Methlycrotonyl Coenzyme A Carboxylase Deficiency , a metabolic disease that can cause muscle atrophy, liver failure, and insult to the mitochondria. Amazingly, some people don't ever show signs of the disease. It sounds ver scary to us and we are trying to be patient and prayerful as we await the next round of tests.

It would be ideal if he didn't have it obviously, but we know that either way God is good, that he can use all things for the good of those who love him, and that he is, in my opinion, in the best possible family he could be in because we love him so much.

Psalm 143:1-2 says that the Lord prepares our hands for war and our fingers for battle. Basically, that means the Lord has and will continue to prepare us for whatever obstacles that life brings. I know that the Lord will prepare us for the news and preapre us for the treatment process, should that be the case.

Please join us in praying how we have been ... 'Lord if possible, please take this cup from Macabe. Lord, we ask the he would be totally healthy and free from any disease or manifestation of symptions for the rest of his life ... but... NOT OUR WILL, BUT YOURS BE DONE." We are very challenged by Jesus' prayer in Gethsamane, recorded in Matthew 26. He pleads with the Lord 3 times to not have to be beaten and nailed to the cross. He is honest in pleading that, but WILLING to do whatever neccessary, whatever the Lord asked him to do. If Jesus wouldn't have been hung on the cross, my very sins would not be attoned for and I would be going to hell. So obviously, much good came from a very grueling, trying, lonely, and desperate time in Jesus' life. Jesus didn't want to suffer, but suffering was neccessary for a great outcome ... the opportunity for salvation to all who accept his grace. Jesus was living for a purpose greater than himself and was in complete submission to God. We too want to beg for good health for McCabe, but we also desire to be in complete submission to the Lords plan for our family.
