McCabe's 3rd Birthday Party

Grandma Nancy and Papa Phil came to Des Moines to celebrate McCabe's 3rd Birthday!  The asked him where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner.  He responded, "the black one," which means P.F. Changs.  We all enjoyed a great meal there, walked around the pond, and opened some gifts!

The next morning Luke and I gave him his gift, a scooter and helmet!

And later that day we went over to Grandma Julie and Papa Bruce's house for a baseball themed cake and a surprise visit from uncle Jake!

I am so delighted to be McCabe's Mom!  He was such a delight this weekend, as he always is!  Happy 3rd Birthday little buddy!

Splash Park Round 2

We went to the splash park again on Friday!  I am not sure how many trips I have left in me this pregnancy, but I am glad we have gotten to go a couple of times.  I love doing things I know that my kids will love.  Brooks and McCabe were still pretty cautious and staying right by my side.  I think there hesitations are what make the splash possible.  I can't image trying to go there with all 3 kids in different directions.  So Brooks, McCabe and I, find a spot on the edge to sit and we just watch Leighton enjoy getting wet!

McCabe was in to throwing stuff into the water, but never wanted to get it back out!  Here is Leighton braving the fountain to rescue McCabe's fish toy.

Playing Catch

I  forgot to post this video a couple of months ago.  I love watching my kids play together, be creative together, and run wild with each other.  This video shows Leighton and McCabe playing catch.  It actually lasted about 10 minutes but I didn't record all of it.  Enjoy!

First Trip to the Splash Park

We enjoyed beautiful weather at the splash park today.  This was our first trip to the splash park this summer and with a baby on the way, we really hope it isn't our last.  Leighton loved the water!  Last summer, he was very hesitant, but he jumped right in this summer!  McCabe and Brooks were surprisingly timid and hardly stepped foot inside the water.  Brooks did hold Leighton's hand a few times and jumped around a little.

I love being at the splash park with my little guys.  I wish they would have played in the water a little more, but standing around, made my job easier!  And the strange thing is that even when some of the kids seem like they aren't having fun, they talk about it non stop until we go again, so it is safe to assume that they enjoy it none-the-less.

ICA Fundraiser Event

We spent the evening outdoors at our church camp supporting a fundraiser for Iowa Christian Academy.  After a windy Famous Dave's meal under a tent, the boys enjoyed playing some wild west cowboy games.
