Fishing at Jester Park

On our last family day, we went to Jester Park to fish.  The temperature was about 15 degrees cooler than at house and actually seemed to get colder as the morning progressed.  Coupled with the wind and the fact that we were dressed for warm weather, we were pretty cold fisherman!  The boys still enjoyed it.  We eventually moved away from the Lake and went to a pond there where it seemed warmer.

Coffee Shop

Yesterday, I asked McCabe what he wanted to do that day. He replied, "oh I have to go to work at the coffee shop."

I text messaged Luke to tell him the story and He spontaneously responded that he had a free hour and asked if we wanted to go to the coffee shop and see him in the middle of the day!

It was soooo much fun!

This is a picture of Leighton and McCabe attacking Luke with kisses while Brooks said , "hi," to everyone, and I sipped on a Minty Mocha Shake! It was an enjoyable unexpected family date with Luke.

Picking Pumpkins

We went to Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge, IA. There was a lot to do!

First, the boys spent a considerable amount of time, walking around in and jumping into, this huge corn pool.

Then we got to see a lot of farm animals ...

Play in The Three Little Pigs houses ...Ride tractors ...Do a hay barrel maze ...Jump on the jumping pillow ...Take a hay ride behind a huge tractor.

And pick out 2 pumpkins, which we got to carve the next evening at our bible study hang out while learning about how Christ cleans us out when we become believers and puts a light in us so we can shine to others!

It was such a fun family day. In case you were wondering ...

Brooks was there too ...

And so was I! I got to do a lot of behind the scenes picture taking, smirking as I watched my boys enjoy this experience, and realizing just how blessed I am.

Sculpture Park

Our famliy spent an evening walking around downtown, playing on all the land to roam by the sculpture park, and enjoying some great family time.

We took some long over do pictures of Luke and I each with the kids. I guess you couldn't real call them family pictures since the 5 of us are not all in one. But they are sweet to us none-the-less.

Daddy and the babies ...

Mommy and the babies ...

Daddy catching fearless McCabe ...

McCabe standing on a sculpture perfectly between two buildings ...

My handsome boy, Leighton ...

With fearless spirits my boys saw a chance to climb on something tall.

And with a dad to catch a fall, they courageously braved the tall tall wall ...

Brooks watching all the boys run up and down the hill countless times. I think he is so excited about being in this family and I think he is so eager to play with them.

And a photo opportunity wouldn't be complete without some close-ups of our quickly growing, expession showing, handsome looking, and smile sharing Brooks David Hukee.

I love my family sooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
